Pip the Plover Takes Flight: Be Among the First to Read Our New Children’s Book
Every spring on New England’s beaches, something magical happens: tiny piping plovers, no bigger than a cotton ball, hatch in shallow nests right in the sand. Their journey to the shoreline is filled with wonder—and danger. These little birds inspired our newest picture book, and today I’m thrilled to share some exciting news:
👉 You can be among the very first readers of Pip the Plover and the Dune Grass Path.
For the month of September, I’m offering free early access to the eBook through BookFunnel. Once you sign up, you’ll have 14 days to enjoy Pip’s story. All I ask in return is that you share your honest review on Amazon or Goodreads when the book officially launches.
Why Pip Matters
This book grew out of a deep love for coastal wildlife and the belief that children’s stories can spark both empathy and action. Through lyrical storytelling and Abigail Powers’ stunning illustrations, Pip invites young readers to step into the world of a piping plover chick on his first journey from nest to shore.
Along the way, children learn about courage, family, and what it means to care for the creatures who share our world. The back matter includes simple, age-appropriate facts about piping plovers and how kids (and grown-ups!) can help protect them.
A New Series Begins
Pip the Plover and the Dune Grass Path is the first book in my new Voices of the Coast series — a collection of picture books that give a voice to the remarkable creatures of our shorelines. Each story blends adventure with conservation, showing children that even the smallest voices matter.
